छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज व छत्रपती संभाजी महाराज यांच्या भूमिका साकारून घराघरात पोहचलेले अभिनेते अमोल कोल्हे यांनी शिवसेनेला सोडचिठ्ठी देत राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसमध्ये प्रवेश केला आहे. राष्ट्रवादीचे ज्येष्ठ नेते आमदार छगन भुजबळ, प्रदेशाध्यक्ष जयंतराव पाटील,विधीमंडळ पक्षनेते अजित पवार, विरोधी पक्षनेते धनंजय मुंडे यांच्या उपस्थितीत अमोल कोल्हे यांनी राष्ट्रवादीत प्रवेश केला. शिवसेनेसाठी लोकसभा निवडणुकांच्या तोंडावर एक मोठा धक्का असल्याचं मानलं जात आहे. याशिवाय औरंगाबादचे (बदनापूर) माजी आमदार अरविंद चव्हाण यांनीही भाजपाला रामराम करत राष्ट्रवादीमध्ये जाहीर प्रवेश केला.
यावेळी राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसचे ज्येष्ठ नेते आमदार छगन भुजबळ यांनी अमोल कोल्हेंच्या प्रवेशामुळे नक्कीच निवडणुकीत फायदा होणार आहे असा विश्वास व्यक्त केला. अमोल कोल्हे यांनी छत्रपती शिवाजीराजे, छत्रपती संभाजी कसे होते हे मांडले आहे. ते सुशिक्षित आहेत. त्यांचा नक्कीच निवडणुकीत फायदा होणार आहे असं छगन भुजबळ यांनी म्हटलं.
यावेळी प्रदेशाध्यक्ष आमदार जयंत पाटील यांनी बोलताना सांगितलं की, ‘आज विशेष आनंद की जगाच्या पाठीवर प्रतिभावंत कलेवर प्रेम करत राजा शिवछत्रपती साकारला आणि आता राज्यातील घराघरात गाजत असलेली स्वराज्य रक्षक संभाजींचा स्वाभिमानी इतिहास उभा करणारे डॉ. अमोल कोल्हे यांनी शिवसेनेचा त्याग करुन राष्ट्रवादीत प्रवेश केला’. अमोल कोल्हे यांचे स्वागत करताना प्रदेशाध्यक्ष आमदार जयंत पाटील यांनी त्यांना घड्याळ चिन्ह आणि मफलर देवून पक्षात प्रवेश दिला.अमोल कोल्हे शिरूर लोकसभा मतदारसंघातून निवडणूक लढणार असल्याची चर्चा काही दिवसांपासून रंगली होती,आता खासदार आढळराव पाटील यांच्यासमोर तगडा उमेदवार उभा राहत असल्याने यावेळी कडवी लढत आढळराव पाटील यांना द्यावी लागणार असल्याची चर्चा मतदारांमध्ये रंगली आहे.
