लोकांच्या दैनंदिन जीवनात वापरल्या जाणाऱ्या विज्ञानाचे महत्त्व सांगण्यासाठी राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान दिन दरवर्षी साजरा केला जातो. डॉ.सी. व्ही. रामन हे भारतरत्न आहेतच पण ते नोबेल पारितोषिक विजेते होते .प्रकाश किरणाचे विखरण हा महत्त्वाचा शोध त्यांनी लावला .भारतीयांना अनेकांच्या बुद्धीचा वारसा आहे .आर्यभट्ट ,चाणक्य, कल्पना चावला, होमी भाभा ,विक्रम साराभाई, डॉ. अब्दुल कलाम यांचा तरुणांना अभिमान हवा. तरुणांनी संशोधकांचे चरित्र वाचून ज्ञानसंपन्न बनावे.आज सर्वत्र विज्ञानाचा चमत्कार दिसतोय. विद्यार्थ्यांनी आरामदायी जीवनाचा त्याग करावा. हॉस्टेल लाईफ जगावे. कठोर परिश्रमातून यश प्राप्ती होते .ताणतणाव विरहीत जीवन जगा. भारताची प्रगती करण्यासाठी वैज्ञानिक क्षेत्रात नाविन्यता आणायला हवी .नवीन राष्ट्रीय शैक्षणिक धोरणामुळे ज्ञानाची विज्ञानाची कवाडे खुली होतील. विद्यार्थ्यांना स्वतःला शिकण्याचे मार्ग सापडतील .नवीन पिढी ही विज्ञाननिष्ठ बनली पाहिजे त्याशिवाय आंतरराष्ट्रीय शास्त्रज्ञांच्या यादीत आपण येणार नाही. असे विचार राष्ट्रीय विज्ञान दिनाच्या निमित्ताने एस. एम .जोशी कॉलेजमध्ये आयोजित केलेल्या कार्यक्रमात प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून शिवाजी विद्यापीठाचे भौतिकशास्त्र विभाग प्रमुख डॉ. केशव राजपुरे यांनी मांडले. अध्यक्षस्थानी महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. चंद्रकांत खिलारे होते. वैज्ञानिक दृष्टिकोन जोपासण्यासाठी अशा व्याख्यानांचा उपयोग होतो. निसर्गाकडून आपण शिकायला हवे. विज्ञान हे डोळसपणे शिकवू या. प्रत्येक गोष्टीत विज्ञान आहे. वैज्ञानिक क्षेत्रात खूप प्रगती होत आहे. रोबोच्या माध्यमातून ऑपरेशन करणे शक्य झाले आहे. युवकांनी विज्ञान समजून घेतले पाहिजे. वैज्ञानिक क्षेत्रामध्ये आपले योगदान द्यावे. विज्ञानाचा उपयोग राष्ट्रासाठी झाला पाहिजे असे विचार त्यांनी मांडले.प्रास्ताविक डॉ. रंजना जाधव यांनी केले. स्वागत डॉ. सुनंदा पिसाळ यांनी केले.आभार डॉ. बाळासाहेब देवकाते यांनी मानले. या कार्यक्रमाला उपप्राचार्य डॉ.एम .एल. डोंगरे, डॉ. एम .आर. जरे, सर्व विदयार्थी, प्राध्यापक व शिक्षकेतर सेवक उपस्थित होते.
